However, blog tag isn't so bad. It's pretty easy to outrun the taggers should you want to. Today though I'm playing along. My friend Angelique has tagged me for 6 random things. She has a lovely blog No Life Without Wife and she lives in Noumea of all places. Who doesn't want to have a little internet holiday to Noumea?
I think she sometimes gets lonely hanging out in the middle of the pacific so why don't you pop on over and tell her I sent you. She happens to be celebrating her 200th post today and having a giveaway.
So 6 random things. Here goes:
- I'm an ideas woman. I am full of fantastic ideas, but struggle with getting thing past ideas stage. People often treat me like I'm flaky as a result.
- I have a goal to ride over the West Gate Bridge as part of Around The Bay in A Day in October 2009. At this stage I am thinking I will aim to do the 50km ride.
- I've traveled considerably in every state and territory in Australia. For a couple of years I worked in a job that involved traveling all over Australia to cities, large and small towns and remote communities. It was an absolutely amazing experience and some of the more remote locations included Yuendumu, Groote Eylandt, Warakurna and Fitzroy Crossing.
- I smoked for over 20 years before becoming a non-smoker 21 months ago. I'm extremely proud of this achievement.
- I really enjoy going out for dinner alone. It's fantastic to take yourself out for a good meal and just enjoy your own company along with some people watching. I always seem to get excellent service when I eat alone too. If you've never tried it I highly recommend it. It feels very indulgent.
- I only started Op Shopping this year. Prior to this year I just didn't get it. Now that I do I can't get enough.
Here are the rules if you want to play by them
- Link to the person that tagged you.
- Post the rules on your blog.
- Share six non-important things/habits/quirks about yourself.
- Tag six random people at the end of your post by linking to their blogs.
- Let each random person know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their website

Hey I've just been to visit internet Noumea. I'm so glad you stopped smoking and embraced op shopping and you are definitely THE ideas woman!
Yep, I was a slow one too. Suited me just fine thankyou!
I too love dining alone and the other thing I love doing alone is going to the movies. No interruptions, I can eat all the lollies and popcorn. And I can take my shoes off without anyone complaining!! LOL
Not only was I the slow one at tag, but I always got picked last for sports teams :(
I always think the test of how self-assured you are, is to go out for dinner on your own. I have to take a book for company (clearly we're not talking fine dining here ... they don't appreciate you whipping out the Mills & Boon during dinner service).
Good luck with the preparations for the Westgate Bridge Ride. That would be amazing. You might be slow at tag, but you must be a pretty good cyclist!
I'm a total beginner cyclist Hoppo Bumpo. I just hope that with 12 months of preparation I can do it.
More competition in the Thornbury opshops.. bummer!!!!
..only joshin'.I know every one in the inner and not so inner north if you want a list xxliz
Ooh, I also love going out to dinner by myself. Before I had my first son, I went out to dinner by myself a couple of times a week (right at the end, when I was enormous). I would sit and eat and eavesdrop on other diners, knowing I was runing our of time to have a social life!
Hey that eating alone sounds great! I've never tried it but I think I will. I love going to see movies or plays by myself and going for a coffee by myself. A meal out by myself sounds so opulent!
Looks like we have a club of last chosens! I was never athletic in the least. I twirled a baton for years and years (can still twirl the baton) and that was my sport. I'm a very beginner cyclist, despite having been a demon on wheels as a kid. It's been 35 years since I rode and I don't remember my legs feeling like jelly!
My sister and I (Americans, go figure...)are pretty sure we know what 'op shopping' is and that we do it ourselves, but we call it differently...thrift store shopping, garage sales, etc...
My question to you...why 'op shopping'? What does it stand for/mean? Or do I have it completely fuddled?
Yeh for quitting smoking!!! Dinners by yourself, yes many times, I even use to go clubbing by myself and I went camping by myself many years ago! Sometimes its nice to be on your own! And I agree you always get better service! Im sure you will do well on your ride, Go team Bigcat!
I too love to eat out by myself. I sometimes go out for breakfast after taking the kids to school.
Going to the cinema alone is fun too - and I don't have to share my lollies.
I stopped smoking several times, with lapses in between mostly due to social smoking. ok, most of that involved alcohol too. But now I've quit for four and a half years and can honestly say that finally i don't want one. what a relief. Congratulations. You have every right to be proud! :)
I am SOOOO happy you discovered op shopping! It just is the best isn't it, beats department stores any day. I too smoked heavily for a long time and gave up quite a few years ago, now can't believe I ever was a smoker! My girls are horrified at the fact I once smoked!!!
Good on you for quitting smoking, that's ace, and I've heard, very hard.
Op shopping - awwww, a subject close to my heart..!
I love dining alone too - it's such a treat. I never get to do it these days, but one day, I will go back! I also love going solo to the movies.. Perfect!
You are such a swell gal! From your lovely link I have had so many visitors. I'm sure it was you suggesting it not that I have a fab giveaway that so many left a comment. I have never been able to eat alone I am a wimp when it comes to things like that. I need company!
Well done on the trashing of the nicotine. I never smoked but I understand it's a harder quit than some other drugs.
I only tried out for one team as a child -they had powder blue jeans which I thought were fantastic. I've never worn almost any jeans since which tells you that my sports days were not amazing.
I've posted on my blog - 6 random things about me... :)
well done on quitting the ciggies...yes, Op shop shopping is fun fun, the anticipation of not knowing what you'll find always gets me!
love how you take yourself to dinner somedays...what a great idea!
