BLOGTOBERFEST - Day 10 - The Real Stuff

That's right. I'm coming clean. I wasn't Loving Friday at all this morning. I was feeling frazzled, stressed about all sorts of things, short of time and totally stuck in wanting it to be different.

I have another confession to make. I'm struggling to blog everyday. It's not that I don't have anything to say. I have plenty of things to say. In fact I can hardly get to sleep at night my head is so full of things I want to share. The problem is time! I don't have enough time. I can hear your empathetic sighs my fellow bloggers. How does one find the time to say the things one has to say? Not only that, where does one find the time to catch up on all one's favourite blogs and connect with others?

BLOGTOBERFEST has brought so many new bloggers in to my life and I want to connect with every single one of you. I also want to stay connected to a the lovely friends I've already made. As well as connecting I really want to stay true to my own intentions of putting myself out there and telling my story as it unfolds.
BLOGTOBERFEST has proved to be a much greater challenge than I thought it was going to be, and a totally different type of challenge too.

The ripple effect has been quite significant too. Every aspect of my life seems to have suddenly become busy. In a funny way it makes a lot of sense. If I get my super serious secret squirrel business happening I imagine that life is going to be pretty busy for a while. I'm going to need to have good routines in place, life will need to be compartmentalised a little and I'm going to have to take good care of my health. BLOGTOBERFEST has provided an opportunity to explore the impact of adding another major commitment to my life. So far, I'm not doing so good with the compartmentalising, the taking good care of myself or the routines. I'm glad to have realised this as hopefully I can now think about how to manage it a little differently perhaps.

Now, I know that you are probably saying to yourself "Hey BigCat, I came for a giveaway not for philosophy". So we'd better have ourselves a giveaway.

This is a little mini collage I made. It's my own version of Starry Starry Night.

How about some Pretty Little Patchwork? This one is a goodie for all you crafty girls.

Lastly, Curlypops and I found this little beauty on our excellent adventure. What's BLOGTOBERFEST without a German recipe book giveaway?

If you'd like to get your hands on this little package leave a comment by midnight on Sunday and I'll get my fabulous random number generator to draw a winner on Monday. Everyone needs a win on Monday.

So how about you? Are you struggling with the daily post? I suppose you could try getting out of it with a
note from your mum or maybe this get out of jail card. I loved them both. I think both of you lovely ladies deserve a spirit award for your cunning ways. You just have to pop over to flossy-p to pick it up.

I have millions of other things I'd love to share with you but that's all the time I've got for tonight. Has anyone got some pockets of time I can borrow? I need about an extra 6 hours per day at the moment! Until tomorrow...

Luckily, I have a short period of time each day before my workday starts where I can squeeze a blog post in. Of course, that means my thoughts have to be organized before 8 am (not always easily accomplished!). Weekends are more difficult because I don't want to spend my free time tied up online. If you find some of those free hours, send some my way!

I only made my post of today by 40 minutes but I was determined I wasn't going to break! Thanks for giving me something else to obsess over every day!

i've been trying to keep up with every blogtoberfest blog, because, after all, that's what it is all about, correct?
i fell asleep on my computer last night.

I think you are doing an amazing job writing all these posts and managing your day to day life as well. I find it is a struggle to keep up with my ever growing Bloglines list, writing comments, postings a couple of times a week, plus finding time to actually enjoy some crafting. Can't wait to find out about your secret squirrel stuff - sounds very intriguing.

It's so funny that you wrote this today. I completely overlooked writing a post yesterday. I had something good to write about so I cheated. I wrote yesterday's post today and just changed the post date and time...I'm a bad blgtoberfester! I hang my head in shame.

So far so good on the posting. But the month is only one third gone. I have enjoyed checking out new bloggity resources, but haven't been able to completely exhaust the list.

It's amazing how time consuming blogging is. If anyone wants to craft as well... I just don't know how they do it!

I had the same problem yesterday, nothing really blog worthy in the craft line to talk about so I blogged the exciting event of the day instead.

I had a bat in my washing machine!

Something I really could have done without.

If you manage to find those extra 6 hours a day that you need - please, please, please be kind to me and send me a measly one hour :D
It's a vicious circle isn't it? The more you blog, the harder it is to do any craft... well in my case anyway. luckily I can type fast and dribble a lot - so blog entries are a doodle here :D

Cat, you're doing really well. It's no surprise you're finding it tough! I'm enjoying your enthusiasm and energy for Blogtoberfest, and yes, it is tough to post every day. Just think: there are now lots of other gorgeous crafters jumping up and down with enthusiasm - smile and let them run, see how you go. Don;t get guilty!!

Ooh yeah the daily blogging is hard, as is the daily reading of blogs and return comments! I decided to do a periodic round-up instead of daily blog because the men in my life won't stand for the neglect, but now if I don't update that every day I'm worried I'm letting my readers down ;)

I'd love to go in the comp. please!

Oh, I hear you. As you may have noticed ;-) Thanks for the award, Im really chuffed!

And I love Starry starry night, you do nice work!

If I had some spare time up my sleeve, I'd auction it off. Surely I could make millions...

I've been squeezing in a few posts close to midnight just to get one in for the day. I'm sacrificing sleep for Blogtoberfest!

As for reading other blogs, well, there just don't seem to be enough hours. I'm overwhelmed by the thought of reading 80+ feeds if I miss a day!

empathising all over you right now, eeew

The first thing I noticed about blogging everyday, was it took away the time I had for visiting other peoples blogs. I'm missing that time.

Here here for another 6 hrs per day!

I think you're doing an amazing job keeping up with it all - I've actually been in awe of it. I have to say, I have the same problem and am really looking forward to hearing anyone's suggestions on how they manage.

My solution for no posting time = LOLcats.
Bellgirl's solution for no posting time = inappropriate German translations.
Or do a quick search on Flickr for the word for how you're feeling that day, and blog your fave pic outta the ones that come up.
Don't feel stressed about the Fest, just keep on going, you don't have to visit all the blogs all the time, everyone understands that people have lives and limited time to devote to the 'puter.
As for the other bits o' your life you want to get done...as my friend Nat says "How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time."
Great to meet ya today ! xxx

I am the laziest blogger in the universe.. nothing for months then 3 posts in a week.. I am such a slacker.. I guess working 40 hours a week, having 3 kids a hubby a naughty cat and a bad beagle thrown into the mix as well as my addiction (fabric) doesn't leave much time for much at all!

I got your link through curlypops

Hmm I know what you mean - just not enough minutes in the day! Thought it was just me but it IS a challenge - fun though.

angelique said...

Keep it short and sharp. Maybe just a photo. Sometimes I don't always have the words but to see an image is great. keeping on keeping on. You are nearly half way there.

I so know what you mean! Time just needs to stop for an hour, once a day, and in that hour so much could get done! I'd comment on every single blog, clean the house like it's never been cleaned before, sew up the 10 little baby shoes I owe people....oh so much to do!

You are doing a fantastic job with Blogtoberfest, I tip my hat to you!!
