BLOGTOBERFEST - Day 9 - BigCat and Curlypops Excellent Adventure

Yesterday I set off on an adventure to visit Curlypops. I packed up all my goodies and loaded the bike, put sensible shoes on and headed off to catch the train.

I had to take a train in to the city and swap on to another train. I was nervous about how I would handle the bike on the train especially in the busier city areas but I managed it just fine and got more confident as the day went on.

Look at what happened when I took photos of the bike in the subway. It turned all magical and sparkly. I love it.

I arrived out in Curlypops land in time for a late morning tea. Banana Bread and coffee hit the spot.

We thought some op/thrift shopping was the order of the day so off we went. OMG. We hit the mother load. I don't have photos to show the full extent of my purchasing. I had to leave it all at Curlypops house cause there was no way 4 boxes full of goods and an antique cupboard were going to fit in Betsy's little basket.

Here's a tiny preview of some of the fabric we managed to find. I'll post the rest of the photos when I manage to get it all back to my place. I do have one little treat for the giveaway tomorrow so pop back then to check it out.

It was such a lovely day filled with good talking about real things, lots of laughter, plenty of refreshements and shopping to die for. Isn't it lovely when blog friends become good blog friends who then become real life friends and then great real life friends.

An antique cupboard as well?? I hope we see pictures soon. It sounds like a lovely day out.

PS. I'm very impressed with the pic at Parliament Stn. You must have been beyond the yellow line to take that one!

Looks like you and Curly Pops had a Great time!! I was wondering why you hadnt taken your share of the stash... You rode Betsy all the way to Werribee!!! Maybe you should see if you can get a little trailer to tow behind betsy?? That would be pretty cool! But maybe abit hard when you had to pedal up hill??

An excellent adventure indeed. I am currently shopping for a bike (birthday present) and am looking for one that has a wide seat for my wide seat and one that will take a good sized basket. One never knows what one will want to carry home after all.

I'm very jealous. I'd love to take a day and just go shopping and get a cuppa with a friend. Hasn't happened in a while, we all seem too busy, I think I gotta do something about that.

Your bike does look magical! The tires are all glowy - makes you think the thing could fly if it wanted to.

I can't wait to see all you've bought..the fabris is just wonderful.

Big Cat... could you please just transplant Melbourne onto the North Coast for me? Just the good parts...like your op-shops and galleries and crafty folk etc. That would be appreciated, thanks in advance, Megan :)

Isn't that lovely that you have made the leap from blog friends to real life friends?
That is the motherload of fabrics you found.
What an excellent way to round out an already good day.

I just read about this post on Flossy-P's blog, and I totally agree. I feel a little envious too...ok, a lot envious! But also very happy to. Stories like this reaffirm my faith in humanity. Thank-you :)

So it was a BigCurlyCatPops kind of adventure. Sounds delightful.

I too would have liked to see the cupboard strapped to your back as you happily pedaled away. But I suppose that would have resulted in a hospital detour!

(I'm going to have do google a Melbourne map to see how far you went for your visit.)
