BLOGTOBERFEST - Day 30 - Op Shoppers Anonymous

Hello my name is BigCat and I'm an op-shopaholic.

It's been less than 24 hours since my last shopping spree.

I can't stop thinking about op-shopping. It's all I want to do.

I worry constantly about all the bargains out there that I'm missing out on.

I can't believe I left that gorgeous chair behind yesterday. It was only $10. I'm sure it will be gone by the time I am able to go back on Saturday.

Not to mention the set of Golden Hands craft books in mint condition.

I fear I'm about to go on a massive bender. Is there any hope for me?

Definitely no hope. The best you can do is make room for the stuff you're going to bring home.

You got that yarn at an op shop!? Awesome.

Yarn, and craft books and the three plates in that first photo? Oh me oh my. Score!

I get the shakes if I don't go op shopping once a week.

No hope for you at all!!!!
It's turn into a weekly ritual for me and my three year old, she's has it just as bad as I do!!!

No hope at all, its' just as well you're so good at finding treasures!

I also worry constantly that I'm missing out on things, and regret what I missed long after. It's an illness!

Come and see my house and that may put you off opshopping. I always try to follow my mantra, "I know exactly what I am using this for!"
But hey, it's all going to a good cause. Amen

You HAVE to go back and get the Golden Hands books! I got a whole stack from my mother in law and they are GREAT!! Laughed out loud at this post - I bring things home surreptitiously so M. won't see and yell at me for having more "stuff". It's addictive!

Oh that's great! I have the complete set of Golden Hands books - my mum bought them for me (back in the 70's) and they come out from time to time when I need some inspiration.

so, now i know that an op-shop is like our thrift shops and i know what you mean. i always wonder if the perfect vintage quilt is there today and someone else is buying it . . .

Yeh, sorry - no hope! I'm the same if I pass up something I really like, I spend the next week wondering if it will still be there...

No hope for you, me, or a few others I know. We'll all have to meet in op shop rehab.

I might not have bought all the other stuff, but I would have bought that yarn! ... and probably some fabric and maybe an item of clothing ... and ...
and yes - I love op shops too!
... I actually went to 2 ops shops today ... but neither of them were the one right next to work - the one I often sneak over to in my lunch break ... LOL
(I don't go to the others that often, but I decided to pop in on my way home from work and have a look for something I will need next year and might find there in the next month or 2 ... didn't find it yet - but I bought some yarn at one op shop and some beads/etc at the other one ... and I got some fabric at the one next to work on Monday - lol)
