The desk has been ignored this week in favour of the couch and evenings in bed. I'm making a blanket for BigCat to keep his bed warm in winter. He gets quite jealous sometimes when I do lots of craft instead of giving him lots of cuddles. So, I'm hoping that if I make him something he might feel somewhat consoled. Unlikely, but it keeps my conscience clear.
Yesterday I arrived home to find some lovely mail waiting for me. A package all the way from Japan. I fell in love with some fabric that I saw over at Kimono Reincarnate and the lovely Melanie sent me a piece. I have to get sewing now as I have so many lovely fabrics that I have received lately.
Thanks Melanie for your kind gift. It was wrapped beautifully too but the camera didn't want to play nice this morning. Anyway, pop over and visit Melanie's new Etsy shop or her blog. She is such a clever, creative woman. You'll have a lovely time.

Big Cat's blankie is looking very warm and snuggly so far! Great colour combo....what a lucky little kitty!
Wow, lucky Big Cat!!! And lucky you receiving that lovely fabric too :)
Oooh, I love that fabric! Don't let the sewing get you down, it grows on you. Sometimes it's easier to not use a pattern.
I'm so glad you liked the fabric, I can't wait to see what you make with it.
The cat's blanket made me smile. :-)
And wow on the fabric! I'm going to have to check out her shop!
Sorry I didn't have a NYC buddy to go with me. The bus is cheap enough for me to plan to do this again...when it gets cooler, probably.
